I’m lazy and never can be bothered. But I’m updating now.

Anyway, the opening of the Perth International Festival was awesome! It was beautiful, and loud (I was close to the speakers), and just amazing! I loved it.

I’m going to see Madama Butterfly, At the Supreme Court Gardens; it’s an opera, it looks really interesting, I think it will be good.

And I’m going to see the Lotterywest Floating Films, at Hilary’s Boat harbor; it’s going to be really good. Their going to play My Neighbor Totoro, which looks cute, it’s a Studio Ghibli film so it can’t be too bad. Before the Floating Films start there’s going to be a stage show by the French troupe Zic Zazou, called Le Kiosque, It looks like it should be a fun night.

I might be going to see Midsummer Nights Dream, at His Majesty Theatre. I think so, but I’m not entirely sure.

That’s pretty much all I’ll be doing for awhile.

I’m back to ballet now. It’s fun, and painful, but fun anyway. I had to do the class before mine, on Pointe last Saturday; my damn Pointes don’t bloody Pointe! The little pricks have really hard soles, they don’t bend properly. Then we did Pointe for my class too! My feet hurt for the rest of the day. I’ve been moved up to the next level in tap, it’s fast and confusing. I get what I’m supposed to do; I just can’t do it that fast. I should get used to it after awhile. Jazz should be alright, I’m in the same grade as last year, so there shouldn’t be so much of I change. Contemporary should be the same too.

I’m going to Norway for around three weeks in the middle of the year, for church. I don’t exactly believe in what the church stands for, but I get to go to Norway, and London, and I think we’re going to Hong Kong too, so I’ll live through the meetings, and tolerate the annoying religious testimonies. I have to do fundraising work, because Hayley is, my dads paying upfront for me, but a lot of the younger youth, like me, have to fundraise, because they can’t afford to pay up front. So the church will pay for them to go (‘cause they want then to have the religious experience.), and they pay it back by fundraising.

Yeah. So I’m going there for what they call E-TAB, which stands for Everyone Together at Brunstad (the church site in Norway.), it’s for the youth (so not exactly everyone). There’s a vague description behind it, but I don’t pay enough attention to remember it.

That’s in June and July, I think.

So yeah, that’s most of my year. It should be a reasonably enjoyable one.

x Elizabeth

City Life

Today we (Me, Hayley, and Mrs. Taylor) went to the city!*gasp* I know! I was shocked too! (I don’t get out much, especially not to the city.) It was a rainy day to day, but meh, still had a good day. We went for fun, more or less, and fun it was. First of; Mrs. Taylor had to go to the hair dressers. So Hayley and I wondered round aimlessly for about forty five minutes. We went to Target and Myer and other various benign places. Then when Mrs. Taylor finished having her hair done, we went to Luis Vuitton and Gucci, because Hayley and I had never been to either of them. So for a sort of School work thing, we did price checking to find out what’s the most expensive thing in the store. In Luis Vuitton, the most expensive thing you could buy was a leather handbag for eight thousand dollars. The least expensive thing you could buy was two little cubes (dice with Luis Vuitton written in them) to hang on your mobile, they were three hundred dollars. Than we went to Gucci, to see if they would beat Luis Vuitton. The most expensive thing in Gucci was a mink handbag with ostrich skin handles for ten thousand dollars, so it did beat Luis Vuitton. I don’t think we remembered to ask what the least expensive thing was. Ah well, next time. Then Mrs. Taylor went to have lunch with Robin. And Hayley and I had lunch at McDonalds. After lunch we went up to the Art Gallery. Outside the Art Gallery There was a man playing the saxophone, so we sat down and had a listen to him. He was really good! It was beautiful to listen to on a rainy day. Then we went into the Art Gallery. They had a very some very interesting exhibitions on. There was a photography exhibition on. I thought it was crap. It was disturbing and creepy, because it was about homeless people. Now disturbing and creepy I can handle, but theses photo we just crap! Angles were crap, lighting was crap. There was only one or two that actually looked reasonable. Well that’s my opinion anyway. There was a fashion exhibition on which was nice. And there were some other exhibitions that were good too. After walking through the Art Gallery, Hayley and I got some hot chocolates, from the café. Then once we finished them, we took the train home (because Mrs. Taylor wanted to do some other things near the city.). We were picked up at the train station by mum and David. And that’s what happened today.

Tomorrow the Perth International Festival starts! The opening is at nine o’clock, on the swan river, the part at the end of Williams st. I think. And there doing all kinds of stuff on the water, and there’s going to be fireworks. The Festival is going to be really fun! Hayley and I are going to go to a lot of the free stuff with mum. I can’t wait!

X Elizabeth.

Life and Sydney

So life’s pretty boring right now, but its ok I guess. My Home Schooling will be starting again; Hayley should be doing Home Schooling again with me this year. I think. I’ll be starting dancing again as well. Ballet’s going to hurt because I’ve been away so long. Oh well. Jazz will probably hurt too. Yay for tap! Tap never hurts. I don’t even know if I’ll be able to do tap and jazz, the tap and jazz classes I went to last year are now at the same time as one of my ballet classes, my ballet teacher will probably kill me if I took that class off after all of the time I’ve had off ballet. I’ll have to work it all out with my teachers.

So Sydney was really fun! On the first day we went up to the Blue Mountains. I was tired because our plane was three hours late and I got know sleep on it, I slept a bit in the car, it’s was an ok flight nonetheless, we were on a jumbo jet, and we had our own TV like things and the back of our chairs. The channels nickelodeon and Q Comedy were mixed up just like last time, but I only really listened to the radio.

Anyway, first day: we went to the Blue Mountains, as I said earlier, aside from me being tired I had a good time. We went to Wentworth Falls again; it was a lot less misty this time so you could actually see things! It was fun and really beautiful. We walked down some stairs, with lots a beautiful plants round them, at the end was a lookout. I was an amazing view! I’d put some photos up but there at my dads house, so I’ll have to do it another time. The waterfall was just magnificent! I wanted to go down to the bottom of it, but I couldn’t because Nina (a.k.a Christina) and dad didn’t want to. It was a long walk down and back up those stairs, so I can’t really blame them for not wanting to go down further. It was beautiful anyway! After that we went further up to Katoomba. We went to a place called Scenic World, where we went on the Skyway; it’s a sort of cable car, it was really fun! There was this platform in the middle with glass at the bottom so you could see down at the valley/rainforest below. We were going to go on the Skyway last time but it was way too misty! Seriously! You could barely see ten meters ahead of you! It was annoying when trying to cross the road. But it was ok this year, hardly any mist. So we did some shopping (‘cause you have to go shopping at least once where ever you go.), then we had lunch, then we went back into Sydney. And went to Long Point Camp, where we were staying. There we quite a lot of people there early. Usually they came the day before the conference started. I found out that the youth from the Sydney and Melbourne churches were setting up for Children’s Day (they have one day during the conference for the children. It’s really quite fun. I’m too old for it now being thirteen, it only goes up to twelve.), so they had to come early. And that was Friday, my first day in Sydney.

Saturday, Second day in Sydney: well we got up at around 6 am the next morning, because we had to pick up Jonny from the airport. Then we got lost in Sydney’s, I swear there schizophrenic or something! They don’t even know what they are! We were on a highway that turned into a road at a T junction then turns back into the highway if you go down the right way at the road. Now we didn’t go the right way at this certain road so instead of getting back on the highway we end up in the opposite direction. This was while Nina was reading the road map, so even with a road map Sydney’s roads are still impossible to work your way through. We stopped at McDonalds to have breakfast and work out the way to get to our friends house, which was where we were trying to get to. We did eventually get where we wanted to get to. We spent ages at our friends’ house, it was really fun! Their crazy, but in a good way. We only get to see them once a year so it’s good to visit them. After being at their place well into the after noon, we finally went back to Long Point Camp. There was a lot more people there then there was in the morning (Lots of the people who come to the conference come from Melbourne so they drive up to Sydney; it only takes about a day), so I actually had people to talk to. So that’s day two.

Day three, Sunday: on day three we went to Paddy’s Markets. We walked round, brought a few things all that jazz. In fact day three was pretty boring; we just went to the market, which was fun for me, but not so interesting to tell people about. After we went to the markets we went back to Long Point Camp. There were a lot more people there then the days before so I just hanged with them.

Day four, Monday: on Monday it was Children’s Day, so it was all about the children. There was a children’s meeting in the morning and in the evening, all the kids went to the beach for the afternoon, the older youth went too to look after the kids. Most of the younger youth went as well, I didn’t, because I wasn’t sure if I was allowed to or not. So Nina and I stayed behind. Katrina and Tara also stayed behind because they were making gifts for Judy and Elizabeth (there are heaps of Elizabeth’s). They invited us over to Tara house so we could help with the presents. There were some plays done by the Sydney and Melbourne youth, which were good. All and all it was an ok day.

Day five, Tuesday: not much happened on Tuesday. We had a day off from meetings, because they wanted to pack up all the Children’s Day stuff that was left in the hall. I can’t really remember pacifically what happened that day. I went swimming in the pool, and played round on my laptop. I hanged out with the girls round my age that were there. So not a very interesting day really.

Day six, Wednesday: not much happened on Wednesday either. A meeting in the morning and in the evening. Hanging out during the day. Yeah not much happened. But it was still an alright day. During the evening after the meeting, me, Nina and a few other girls played a Dutch game called jungle something… I can’t remember exactly. But it was really fun. What you do is: you deal out the whole deck, so each player has a pile.

There is a piece of wood shaped like an hourglass in the middle of the table. The objective of this game is to get rid of your pile. You do that by matching your card to another player’s. Each person puts out a card, you do it in a circle, and if you see someone put out a card that matches yours you have to grab the hourglass shaped piece of wood (I forget what they called it in the game.), before the next person flip their card over, or the person who matches yours gets it. There was a bit more depth and more rules then just that, but I can’t be bothered explaining the whole game. We also played Dutch Blitz. Anyway that pretty much sums up day six.

Day seven, Thursday: hardly anything happened on Thursday. I went to the meetings, Went swimming, Hanged out, played games, all that jazz.

Day eight, Friday: Friday was youth day. So as per usual, we went to the beach. We went to Bulli Beach. The waves were horrible! I almost got dunked around four or five times. Luckily they had a pool there. Sea water pool, but it was huge and there were no waves, so I liked it. I didn’t do much swimming. Eat food and watched the sea. Two of the boys were jumping off the cliff into the sand dunes while I was swimming in the pool. I kept swimming for awhile turned back and almost everyone was jumping too. Even Rachel and Tara, It looked fun but I didn’t try it. I was too scared. Even Esther did it twice! I was too afraid to do it once let alone twice! Jonny did it as well. Everyone seemed to have fun. In the evening we had a feast, because it was the last day of the conference. I got nice a dressed up. A Norwegian girl name Helen (I think.) did my hair for my, It looked really nice! I may have a picture of it I’m not sure. All and all it was a good day.

Day nine, Saturday: the day we went home. We left Long Point Camp at around lunch time, and we got to the airport around one or two… I can’t really remember. Our plane didn’t leave till about seven…ish. So we just hanged in Sydney’s QANTAS club lounge. We got into Perth at around tenish. And that is the end of my trip to Sydney.

Now I’ve been writing this blog over the days course. Now it is almost 3 am so I’m off to bed. Good Night.

x Elizabeth.

Aussi! I’m not too sure why it just makes me feel happy! So grab a flag and wave it proud! Put on your glow sticks and go watch the fireworks! The fireworks were very multicultural this year; Mix 94.5 did the radio for the Lotterywest Skyworks and did it very nicely. I loved the bit where they got everyone to bring out their torches and/or mobiles and shine them out over the river and wave them. It was all really fun! The fireworks were better last year, in my opinion, but they were alright this year to we just didn’t get a great view. I went to the fireworks with Catherine, Christina, Jonathan, Natalia, Kirsten, Sebastian, Jordon and Hayley. Hayley brought heaps a glow stick! She was covered in them! But I got some to, it was fun.

I haven’t blogged in a while and I was supposed to blog about Sydney, but I didn’t really think about it the week after I got back and I went up north to Dongara for most of this week. So I might up date about stuff tomorrow because it’s around midnight and I’m too tired to update fully right now. So I’ll try tomorrow. Bonne Nuit.

x Elizabeth

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://lizzieenglund.blogspot.com/2008/01/aussi-aussi-aussi-oi-oi-oi.html' title='Aussi! I spent today packing to go to Sydney, well half of my day anyway, and now it’s just a little while now and I’ll be on the plane to Sydney. I couldn’t find my mp3 player or headphones though which sucks but I’ll live without I guess. I’ll be gone ten days which used to seem like a long time when I was little but not so much anymore. So why am I going to Sydney? You ask, I am going for church, I have gone every year since I can remember, it’s weird this year because I’m an agnostic now I don’t like this religion all that much, but since I am only thirteen I have to go. But it’s ok because there are people my age so I’ll get some social interaction, yay me! And we are going three days early so I we are going to the Blue Mountains and we are going to see some family friends and we are going to Paddy’s markets and I think we are going to a garden of some sought but I’m entirely sure. I’m enjoying the Qantas club lounge life for the little time I will spend here before I have to go. My dads a gold Qantas club member because he flies a lot for his work, he’s a railway engineer, so whenever I fly somewhere with him we always get to go to a Qantas club which is really fun, so I always have something to look forward to for when I have to go to Sydney for church. Anyway I’m boarding in a few minutes so I’ll have to leave it here I’ll blog again tomorrow and tell you about the Blue Mountains.

Until then x Elizabeth.

New Years Day.

So New Years Day 2008, This Year I’ve decided to make a blog, just for the hell of it, so now you, the very interesting people I don’t know who may be reading this blog, can have a look at my interesting yet boring life (this is gonna be fun). So first blog entry I hope to keep this up and have many more to come, have fun reading your way to The End of the Rabbit Hole.
